Kenshiro boarded the airship with no small amount of trepidation. It wasn’t like he had any positive experiences with general travelling. The last time he remembered being in some sort of transport vehicle that he didn’t have some sort of control over, he was taken in a truck to be a slave. In this instance he had some measure of control insofar as that he had the option of dropping out of the airship, but he wasn’t a fan at all of that solution.
”Would be nice to know if there was at least some sort of… anything in this place.” He thought to himself.

Exploring the ship got him to several things he was very much loving. He found restaurants of all kinds and found some things he liked, and others he didn’t. When everything was said and done, the only things he had on him were the things he didn’t particularly love. Some vegetarian chicken and a bottle of something called “orphan tears” sat in his bag wrapped in ice packs. Most of the things he thought he could share, but it was better than not having anything. The trip was more or less straightforward, air ride to heaven’s arena and prepare for the best battles since… well since the other arena. In that instant he briefly questioned the fact that he was heading back to yet another familiar scene from some aspect of his career or another.  Nevertheless, he shook those thoughts out of his head and headed for the gym, resolute to train a bit and grow stronger before landing.

The moment he set his eyes on the gym he was ecstatic. It was like finding a treasure trove to be able to work out and train up his abilities before arriving. Since he had left NGL he hadn’t had a chance to work out properly and was starting to go a bit crazy since he was afraid he was going to start losing his skills. He started by picking up two of the heaviest dumbbells he could find and using the walls in the large room. It was a simple warm up to try to run on walls with extra weight dragging on down. The concept was easy enough but the actual act was ridiculous. The scars on his body from being whipped repeatedly after failing to perform some exercise or another and being forced to start all over again while fatigued were a painful reminder that resolve was important even when training.

After finishing the wall training, Ken grabbed the heaviest wrist and ankle weights he could stand and picked up the dumbbells he had been using before. Most of his combat prowess hadn’t been in his ability to his harder than another opponent; he had given up on that notion when they started forcing him to fight adults. Ken’s biggest advantage was his speed and that was what had gotten him out of the arena every time. Unfortunately it had also been what had gotten him injured every time. No matter how much faster one was than their opponent it was impossible to dodge everything and eventually he would get overpowered and have to rely on his speed to help him get his footing and start counter attacking before he would be able to win and on occasion the process had to be repeated despite the fact that every injury was slowing him down. He had to do things differently now that he was in charge of his own training. Now was his chance to train the things he had been lacking and the dumbbells were to be his start with training strength and speed. The fatigue would help him build up his endurance, and he would use his ten while training to help him learn to build his aura. It was easily equal to or greater than what he had to endure as a gladiator, but now he had a cause.
”Heaven’s arena is just another training ground. The real arena will be the hunter exam.” He thought to himself, though he could almost swear he had shouted it.
